Dearborn Chamber President David Ippel said, ``Our transportation theme was chosen prior to the tragic events of September 11. Since then, industries associated with travel and transportation have been deeply affected. By sticking with our transportation theme, we believe that we can give our local businesses and the travel industry a boost.'' He added, ``At the same time, Chamber members and others in our community will have a chance to bid on some fantastic travel packages and other prizes.''
Auction sponsors are inviting the public to attend. used car guide Major ``International'' sponsors include Mayor Michael A. Guido, American Arab Chamber of Commerce, Community Bank of Dearborn, Davenport University, Dearborn Federal Credit Union, Dearborn Federal Savings Bank, Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford Medical Center, Les Stanford Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Chevrolet dealerships and the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
The auction will begin at 6 p.m. used car guide Tickets are available for $30 each in advance or at the door. Individual ticket holders will receive a free raffle ticket for a fabulous grand prize drawing including $500 cash. They will also be able to tour Dearborn Grand Central in style while aboard the Choo Choo Train. Foods representing a variety of tastes from around the world will be provided along with a cash bar.
Chamber Executive Vice President Richard O'Neill says, ``The Chamber is still accepting donations for the live and silent auctions and sponsorship opportunities are still available.''
